If you are getting a new deed recorded, the following conditions must be met.

While our office is open from 7:30 a.m., deeds cannot be recoded before 8:30 a.m.

Recording Fees:
$22 for the first page of a document, $2 for every page after first, $1 per indexed name over four, $13 for each marginal reference over one, $24 to record a plan, $1 to certify a document, $1 per page for copies. Return postage for documents recorded.

All deed except municipal, corrective and deeds of distribution require a Real Estate Transfer Tax Form. Additional information and forms are available on the State of Maine website:
